Today’s story focuses on Todd Grimshaw, whose life has taken a deeply troubling turn following everything he went through with Theo Silverton. Although the dramatic headline surrounding Todd may make it sound as though his story has reached a tragic end, the real shock is the way his recent behavior is pushing away the people who still care about him.

Todd has been struggling badly since his horrific ordeal involving Theo. Rather than confronting the pain and emotional damage left behind, he has increasingly turned toward alcohol, reckless behavior, and a string of one-night stands. What began as an apparent attempt to escape his problems is now becoming something much darker. Todd is no longer simply hurting himself. He is beginning to hurt the people around him, and his latest actions leave Glenda Shuttleworth absolutely devastated.

The latest episode opens with Todd returning home after yet another night away from his own bed. Instead of showing any sign that he intends to change his ways, he immediately finds himself confronted with another uncomfortable situation. Glenda is preparing to go on a date with Fraser, the man viewers have seen around the Rovers and who has also been working as a driver for Celeste, the newcomer connected to the funeral storyline.

Christina Boyd and Summer Spellman have both noticed that Todd is spiraling, and they are understandably worried about him. Glenda, however, decides that simply feeling sorry for Todd is not enough. She has seen his recent behavior firsthand, and she refuses to stand by while he destroys his relationships with his friends.

Glenda confronts Todd about the way he has been behaving. She makes it clear that his constant drinking, casual encounters, and increasingly hostile attitude are driving people away. Todd may believe that he is protecting himself by refusing to care about anyone else, but Glenda sees the danger in that attitude. The more Todd pushes people away, the more isolated he becomes.

Things take another turn when Todd is at the undertaker’s office and speaks with Celeste. During their conversation, Todd discovers something surprising about Fraser. Celeste reveals that Fraser is gay and explains that he believed Glenda’s interest in him was based on her desire to support him as an LGBTQ+ ally rather than romantic attraction.

For Todd, this information is less of a revelation and more of an opportunity.

Instead of thinking about Glenda’s feelings or considering how his actions might affect her, Todd seems amused by the situation. His mischievous side immediately comes to the surface, and it becomes clear that he has no intention of letting this information pass without using it to his advantage.

At the same time, Todd is supposed to be helping Celeste with funeral arrangements, but his attention is clearly elsewhere. His attitude becomes so unpleasant that Celeste eventually tells him exactly what she thinks of him, making it clear that his behavior is becoming impossible to tolerate.

Todd then heads over to the Rovers for another drink. However, when he arrives, he discovers Glenda is there. Instead of taking the opportunity to apologize or talk honestly about what is happening to him, Todd launches into another cruel confrontation.

He spitefully tells Glenda that he came to the Rovers to escape from her and the people around her. He accuses her of talking about him behind his back and claims that she has been working with George to keep tabs on him. Todd insists that she should stop interfering in his life.

But Glenda refuses to back down.

She tells Todd exactly what she thinks of the path he is taking. In her view, he is risking the loss of every friend he has left. She warns him that if he continues behaving this way, he could eventually become a bitter, angry, and lonely old man with nobody willing to stand beside him.

Her words clearly strike a nerve.

Todd storms out of the pub, but his anger does not stop him from immediately slipping back into the kind of manipulative behavior that has caused so many problems. Outside, he encounters Fraser, and rather than simply walking away, Todd decides to interfere with Glenda’s date.

Todd tells Fraser that Glenda has been unwell, creating a misleading impression about the situation. He then turns his attention toward Fraser himself, beginning to flirt with him. It is another example of Todd deliberately crossing a line simply because he knows he can.

Meanwhile, Christina, Summer, and Mary arrive at the Rovers for drinks. They quickly realize that Glenda is upset. She believes Fraser has stood her up, leaving her embarrassed and disappointed.

The group decides to head back to Number 11 together, hoping to take Glenda’s mind off what has happened. But when they arrive, nobody is prepared for the discovery waiting for them.

Glenda walks in and finds Todd half-dressed.

Even worse, it becomes clear that Todd has just hooked up with Fraser.

The revelation is devastating for Glenda. Whatever Todd thought he was accomplishing, the impact is much more serious than a simple prank. Glenda feels publicly humiliated and betrayed, particularly because Todd knew she was interested in Fraser and deliberately chose to interfere.

In an emotional confrontation, Glenda demands to know why Todd would treat her this way. She acknowledges that he is angry with her, but she cannot understand how he could justify humiliating her so cruelly.

Christina, Summer, and Mary are equally appalled by Todd’s behavior. They criticize him and make it clear that he has gone too far.

Yet Todd remains completely unrepentant.

Rather than expressing regret, he doubles down. His response suggests that he has convinced himself that other people’s feelings simply do not matter anymore. The more everyone challenges him, the more determined he becomes to reject the person he used to be.

That is what makes this storyline so heartbreaking.

Todd was once someone who cared deeply about his relationships, but after everything he experienced with Theo, something inside him has changed. Instead of processing his trauma, he appears to be using anger, alcohol, sex, and cruelty as a shield. Every time someone tries to reach him, he responds by pushing them even further away.

Summer later makes another attempt to get through to Todd. She tries to make him understand that his current behavior is not going to protect him from the pain he has suffered. But Todd has already reached a dangerous conclusion.

He tells Summer that being nice is what ultimately led to everything that happened with Theo.

In Todd’s mind, kindness made him vulnerable. Trusting people allowed him to be hurt. Caring about others gave them the opportunity to betray him. And now he seems determined never to make the same mistake again.

Todd then makes a chilling declaration about the future.

He says that he is going to take whatever he wants, regardless of who gets hurt in the process.

It is a powerful indication of just how far Todd has fallen.

So, while the dramatic headline may suggest that Todd Grimshaw has died, the real danger in this storyline is arguably something different. Todd is still physically present in Weatherfield, but emotionally, he seems almost unrecognizable. The man his friends once knew is disappearing beneath anger, resentment, reckless choices, and a determination to put himself first.

Glenda’s humiliation could mark a major turning point. Christina, Summer, and Mary have all seen what Todd is becoming, and their patience may not last forever. If Todd continues along this path, he could find himself completely isolated from the very people who have been trying to help him.

And that leaves one major question hanging over the storyline: can anyone reach Todd before he destroys every relationship he has left?

Coronation Street reveals Theo's grisly death aftermath in early ITVX episode

His decision to live by the philosophy of “take whatever I want” could have serious consequences. Todd may believe that refusing to care about others makes him stronger, but the latest events suggest the opposite. Every reckless decision is bringing him closer to a future where he has nobody left to turn to.

For now, Todd remains trapped in a cycle of anger and self-destruction. His actions toward Glenda have exposed just how serious his transformation has become, and his shocking declaration to Summer suggests that he has no immediate plans to change.

The question is no longer simply whether Todd can recover from what Theo did to him. The question is whether he can recognize the damage he is now causing himself and everyone around him.

Coronation Street star speaks out after sparking on-set feud rumours

Coronation Street star Jane Hazlegrove has spoken out after sparking rumours of an on-set feud. It was thought by some that the actor, who plays Bernie Winter-Alahan on the ITV soap, was taking aim at a co-star following a social media post.

On Monday (17 August), Hazlegrove shared a photo on Instagram, with the text reading: “Booking the role isn’t the end of the job interview. How you behave after you’re hired matters too.”

“Haven’t been visible for a long long time! But this post makes total sense! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?

As my Dad used to say you are only as good as your last performance! Be nice! And if you can’t be nice
 step away
 cos people see,” she added.

While some thought the star was referring to another actor from Corrie, which could indicate some trouble behind the scenes of the soap, Hazlegrove later cleared up the rumours in the comment section.

“Just for clarification this post is NOT about anyone I am currently working with at Coronation Street. It’s a gentle reminder to be kind and professional at all times!” she confirmed.

Meanwhile, her co-star Jack P Shepherd, who plays David Platt, took the opportunity to make a joke, asking: “This is me isn’t it?” Hazlegrove replied with a number of laughing faces, adding: “soz pal you don’t win this one!!! No it’s bloody not!!!”

The actor has recently been missing from the cobbles, alongside her on-screen husband Jimmi Harkishin (who plays Dev Alahan). However, Bernie returns home next week, and is shocked to see her estranged auntie Celeste.

It’s clear that there’s some tension between the pair, as Bernie gives her the cold shoulder even after Todd Grimshaw reveals that Celeste is dying. Will they manage to bury the hatchet before it’s too late?
