Coronation Street’s Kit covered in blood and Bethany is left stunned

Sarah Platt’s (Tina O’Brien) prison ordeal is set to take another frightening turn in next week’s Coronation Street, as Kacey’s threats against her family leave everyone caught up in a dangerous game.

Sarah is currently behind bars after being arrested for the murder of Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), but her biggest worry now is making sure her son Harry is safe on the outside.

And with Kacey becoming increasingly fixated on Sarah, it looks like things are about to spiral.

It begins when Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) takes a call from Sarah and does her best to reassure her that Harry is doing fine. For Sarah, hearing that her son is okay is exactly what she needs, but her relief doesn’t last long.

Kacey enters Sarah’s cell and finds her in tears. When she asks if she is crying over Harry, Sarah is immediately unnerved. She’s never mentioned his name to her.

The question leaves Sarah increasingly suspicious that Kacey has been keeping a very close eye on her family.

Meanwhile, Bethany is at home sorting through the washing when she makes an unsettling discovery. She spots blood on one of Kit Green’s (Jacob Roberts) T-shirts.

Bethany is left wondering exactly what Kit has been up to, and with the situation surrounding Sarah becoming increasingly serious, she has every reason to be concerned.

Kit soon reveals just how far he is prepared to go to protect Sarah and her family.

But before that, Sarah receives an ultimatum that leaves her terrified. She stares at a photograph of Harry, only to discover that his face has been scrubbed out.

As if that wasn’t disturbing enough, Kacey arrives and casually mentions some missing pool balls from the prison recreation room. Sarah soon realises she may need Kit’s help if she is going to protect her son.

Outside the prison, Bethany learns from Alya that Adam has taken Harry to the home of a new friend he met through the holiday club. Sarah is horrified when Kacey later shows her pictures of Harry at his new friend’s house.

A distraught Sarah immediately calls Adam and tells him what has happened. She urges him to collect Harry and keep him close, desperate to make sure her son isn’t left vulnerable. Adam is understandably alarmed and confronts Harry’s new friend’s mum, Lottie, about the pictures. Could she be working with Kacey? As the situation escalates, Sarah decides she needs to protect herself.

Back in her cell, she stuffs the stolen pool balls into a sock, creating a makeshift weapon. It is a desperate move, but Sarah appears to believe she has little choice. Soon, she hears voices outside her cell and grips the weapon tightly, preparing herself for whatever is coming next.

Meanwhile, Kit is also taking matters into his own hands.

He tells Bethany that he plans to threaten Kacey’s son, believing it could be the only way to make her back off and leave Sarah and her family alone. But things quickly become dangerous when Kit spots Brandon in the precinct. He immediately gives chase, but Bernie steps in and manages to stop him. She warns Kit that it is time he started looking out for himself, rather than becoming completely consumed by Sarah’s situation.

Yet Kit clearly isn’t ready to walk away.

Back at the prison, Sarah makes her way towards Kacey’s cell, clutching her makeshift weapon. With Kacey having made it clear she knows about Harry, Sarah is pushed to breaking point. And as she approaches the cell, it is impossible to know whether she is planning to threaten Kacey, attack her or simply force her to reveal what she knows.

Coronation Street star speaks out after sparking on-set feud rumours

Coronation Street star Jane Hazlegrove has spoken out after sparking rumours of an on-set feud. It was thought by some that the actor, who plays Bernie Winter-Alahan on the ITV soap, was taking aim at a co-star following a social media post.

On Monday (17 August), Hazlegrove shared a photo on Instagram, with the text reading: “Booking the role isn’t the end of the job interview. How you behave after you’re hired matters too.”

“Haven’t been visible for a long long time! But this post makes total sense! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?

As my Dad used to say you are only as good as your last performance! Be nice! And if you can’t be nice… step away … cos people see,” she added.

While some thought the star was referring to another actor from Corrie, which could indicate some trouble behind the scenes of the soap, Hazlegrove later cleared up the rumours in the comment section.

“Just for clarification this post is NOT about anyone I am currently working with at Coronation Street. It’s a gentle reminder to be kind and professional at all times!” she confirmed.

Meanwhile, her co-star Jack P Shepherd, who plays David Platt, took the opportunity to make a joke, asking: “This is me isn’t it?” Hazlegrove replied with a number of laughing faces, adding: “soz pal you don’t win this one!!! No it’s bloody not!!!”

The actor has recently been missing from the cobbles, alongside her on-screen husband Jimmi Harkishin (who plays Dev Alahan). However, Bernie returns home next week, and is shocked to see her estranged auntie Celeste.

It’s clear that there’s some tension between the pair, as Bernie gives her the cold shoulder even after Todd Grimshaw reveals that Celeste is dying. Will they manage to bury the hatchet before it’s too late?
