Sarah’s prison ordeal has been filled with uncertainty ever since she was locked away over the death of Theo Silverton. Although the people closest to her, including police officer Kit Green and her former boyfriend Gary Windass, have tried to protect her from suffering the harshest possible consequences, Sarah has discovered that life behind bars is anything but forgiving.

She has repeatedly found herself vulnerable among inmates who are stronger, more intimidating and willing to use fear to get what they want.

For a while, Sarah thought she had finally found someone she could trust in Casey. Their friendship initially appeared to give Sarah some much-needed support during an incredibly difficult period. Unfortunately, Sarah eventually discovered that Casey’s motives were nowhere near as genuine as she had believed.

Casey had become interested in Sarah largely because of her connection to Kit.

Knowing that Sarah was romantically involved with a police officer, Casey saw an opportunity. When her own son became involved in an armed robbery case, she attempted to use Sarah’s relationship with Kit to influence the situation and secure help for her son.

But Casey had badly miscalculated.

By that point, Sarah had already made the painful decision to end her relationship with Kit. Although the breakup devastated them both, Sarah believed separating from him was the only responsible thing to do. She was terrified that remaining involved with a police officer could damage Kit’s career and place his future in jeopardy.

Instead of understanding Sarah’s decision, Casey became furious.

She made it clear that Sarah would face serious consequences if she could not convince Kit to intervene. Sarah was suddenly caught between protecting the man she cared about and protecting herself from someone who had become increasingly threatening.

Desperate for advice, Sarah eventually turned to Todd Grimshaw.

Coronation Street star Jane Hazlegrove has spoken out after sparking rumours of an on-set feud. It was thought by some that the actor, who plays Bernie Winter-Alahan on the ITV soap, was taking aim at a co-star following a social media post.

On Monday (17 August), Hazlegrove shared a photo on Instagram, with the text reading: “Booking the role isn’t the end of the job interview. How you behave after you’re hired matters too.”

“Haven’t been visible for a long long time! But this post makes total sense! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?

As my Dad used to say you are only as good as your last performance! Be nice! And if you can’t be nice… step away … cos people see,” she added.

While some thought the star was referring to another actor from Corrie, which could indicate some trouble behind the scenes of the soap, Hazlegrove later cleared up the rumours in the comment section.
