We were all pretty devastated when we learned that Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) would be leaving EastEnders, weren’t we?
With the announcement that her son Johnny (Charlie Suff) would be heading off with his mum, it signalled the end of an era, with the other Carter’s all having left Walford, either in the back of a cab or via presumed death via drowning, in Mick Carter’s (Danny Dyer) case.
As we officially wave goodbye to one of Albert Square’s most beloved families, though, according to Ben Wadey we’ll be getting a reunion of sorts before we do.
‘We’ve got some returns coming up,’ he teased.

‘You may have read that Kellie Bright is very sadly leaving us after so many brilliant years in the programme. I am quite close to Kellie. She is such a phenomenal actor.
‘Linda Carter is one of the all time great EastEnders characters, so losing her is such a big moment to the show and we wanted to make sure we see Linda at her best in her final few months.
‘We will be welcoming Lee and Nancy back for a period in a story where I guarantee your jaws will drop when you see it.’
While it’ll surely be devastating to say goodbye to Linda after all this time, the return of her missing children is undoubtedly exciting.
The Carters weathered plenty in their absence so fans can expect the duo’s upcoming reunion to be anything but smooth. The reason for their comeback is currently being kept under wraps wraps but complications will be aplenty.

On her return, Nancy star Maddy Hill said: ‘I am SO excited to be returning to Enders for a short stint and stepping back into Nancy’s shoes (or basketball shorts!). I’ve missed her! I’m especially looking forward to seeing lots of familiar faces and acting alongside my incredible on-screen family.’
On his return, Danny Hatchard said: ‘I’m absolutely over the moon to be returning to EastEnders as Lee Carter. Albert Square has always felt like a home away from home, so I’m proper buzzing to be back grafting with the Enders family.”
Executive Producer, Ben Wadey added: ‘We are absolutely thrilled to have Maddy and Danny back in Walford, bringing two much-loved pieces of the Carter family back together. And whilst Linda is delighted to have her children all together again, she’s got a lot to catch up on…’
Nancy (Maddy Hill) appeared in the show from 2014 until 2016 before leaving to go travelling with boyfriend Tamwar Masood (Himesh Patel), returning for a short stint between 2021 and 2022 before leaving again.
Lee (Danny Hatchard) appeared between 2014 and 2017, taking centre stage in a critically-lauded depression plot, and made a brief reappearance in 2019 before departing once more.
Fingers crossed – we’ll be keeping Linda’s mum Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) – and hopefully Lee and Nancy aren’t the only Carter’s who’ll be reappearing, and we’ll get a glimpse of a seaweed covered-Mick or a cigarette-smoking Shirley (Linda Henry)…
We can dream, right?

‘EastEnders has been my home for thirteen years and I have absolutely loved being part of the show, but I have decided that it is now the right time for me to say goodbye,’ said Linda actress Kellie, discussing her decision to leave.
‘I made the tough decision over a year ago, and after discussing this with Kate Oates and Ben Wadey, they asked me to stay on to be part of an exciting storyline they had planned, and I happily agreed to extend my stay.
‘I will miss my friends and colleagues hugely, but I am looking forward to my next chapter and spending more time with my wonderful boys.’

‘Enders boss Ben Wadey added: ‘Kellie has been at the beating heart of EastEnders for the past 13 years, and her characterisation of the fiercely lovable, protective, and brilliant Linda Carter has made her a favourite amongst the viewers and cemented her as a classic EastEnders icon.
‘Kellie has been involved in some of the show’s most explosive and iconic storylines, and everyone at EastEnders will miss Kellie and Linda dearly.
‘When Kellie told us of her decision last year to leave, we already had big plans for Linda, so we were delighted that Kellie agreed to stay on to see them through.
‘We’ve still got a long way to go before we say goodbye, but I can promise that Kellie’s exit storyline will be full of unmissable drama. I’d like to thank Kellie for her time here at EastEnders, and we wish her all the best for the future.’
SHOCKING BETRAYAL!!! Ravi and Priya Betray Max and Run Away Together | EastEnders
Ravi Gulati thought his life was finally falling back into place when Priya Nandra-Hart agreed to marry him.
After everything they had endured, their reunion seemed like the happy ending Ravi had been desperate to achieve ever since returning to Albert Square. But beneath the excitement of their engagement is a secret capable of destroying everything. Priya has been hiding a relationship with Max Branning, and the truth about her pregnancy could make Ravi’s dream of rebuilding his family collapse in the most painful way imaginable.

Ravi has spent months trying to reconnect with Priya. His return to Walford followed a deeply difficult period in his life, after he had spent time receiving treatment for his mental health. Ravi was diagnosed with complex PTSD, and the experience changed him considerably. During that difficult chapter, Priya remained by his side, supporting him when he needed someone most.
Yet when Ravi returned home, he made a decision that devastated Priya. Instead of rebuilding their relationship, he chose to end it. Priya was left heartbroken, and eventually she became involved with another man. What Ravi does not know is that the man in question is Max Branning.
Priya’s secret affair with Max has continued for months, creating a dangerous love triangle that could soon explode. Ravi knows Priya has been seeing someone else, but he has never discovered the identity of the mystery man. That makes the situation even more explosive because Max is already committed to another complicated relationship. He is engaged to Cindy Beale, meaning both Ravi and Cindy could be blindsided by the truth.
Then Priya discovered that she was pregnant, adding another enormous complication to an already tangled situation.
At first, Priya believed termination was the right decision. She spoke with Jean Slater, who offered her support while she struggled with what to do next. But a frightening experience involving Penny Branning changed Priya’s perspective. After helping Penny through a medical emergency, Priya reconsidered everything and ultimately decided that she wanted to keep her baby.
More importantly, Priya began to understand what she truly wanted from her own future.
Despite the affair with Max, Priya realized that her feelings for Ravi had never completely disappeared. Instead of continuing down a secret path with Max, she began imagining a future with Ravi once again. That decision eventually led to one of the most emotional developments in their story.
Priya invited Ravi over to watch a film with their children. During their time together, the atmosphere between them became increasingly emotional, and Priya encouraged Ravi to propose to her again. This time, there was no hesitation. Ravi asked, and Priya immediately accepted.
For Ravi, it was everything he had hoped for.
The reunited couple shared a passionate kiss, creating what should have been a beautiful new beginning. But viewers know that their happiness is resting on a foundation of secrets. Priya has not told Ravi the entire truth about Max, and she still has another enormous question hanging over their future.
Who is the father of her unborn baby?
Priya is desperately hoping that Ravi could be the father. If that turns out to be true, their reunion could become even more meaningful. But there is an equally troubling possibility: Max could be the baby’s biological father.
If that revelation eventually comes out, Ravi’s engagement to Priya could be shattered almost instantly. It would also place Max in an increasingly dangerous position, especially with his wedding to Cindy approaching.
Ravi’s future on the BBC soap is another reason fans are beginning to suspect that his reunion with Priya may not end happily. Reports indicate that Ravi is set to leave the show in upcoming scenes. If his exit happens while Priya is pregnant and the identity of the baby’s father remains uncertain, viewers could be heading toward an especially dramatic conclusion.
And Ravi and Priya’s complicated romance is only one piece of the massive EastEnders story currently unfolding.
The Carter family is also preparing for an emotional reunion, with Nancy and Lee Carter returning to Albert Square as Linda Carter’s major exit storyline approaches. Maddy Hill and Danny Hatchard last appeared together in a special “what if” episode in 2024, while their previous full-time appearances in Walford came in 2022 and 2020.
Their return is expected to be temporary, but their arrival could have a major impact on Linda and the rest of the Carter family. Executive producer Ben Wadey has already suggested that the reunion will not be simple. After everything the family has experienced over recent years, there are plenty of unresolved emotions and difficult conversations waiting for them.
Linda will undoubtedly be delighted to have her children back around her, but their return will also force the family to confront everything that has happened while they were apart.

Maddy Hill has spoken positively about returning to Nancy’s role, admitting that she has missed playing the character and is looking forward to seeing familiar faces again. Danny Hatchard has also expressed his excitement about reprising Lee, describing Albert Square as somewhere that has always felt like a second home.
Their return becomes even more significant because Linda is approaching a major departure from the soap. Ben Wadey has praised Kellie Bright’s performance and described Linda as one of the most important characters in EastEnders history. Her exit is therefore expected to receive a major storyline, with the soap determined to make her final months memorable.
But while the Carter family prepares for an emotional farewell, another huge mystery is moving closer to its explosive conclusion.
The flashforward storyline that began the year by jumping ahead to January 1, 2027 continues to hang over Albert Square. The episode teased a wedding, secret relationships, a murder, babies and a terrifying hostage situation, leaving viewers with countless unanswered questions.
One of the biggest mysteries involves Max Branning.
In the flashforward, a mystery gunman has Lauren and Oscar at gunpoint and forces Max into an unimaginable choice involving his own children. That raises an obvious question: what could Max possibly do between now and New Year’s Day to create such a dangerous enemy?
Producer Ben Wadey has hinted that Max will have plenty of opportunities to make enemies during the months ahead. In fact, viewers have effectively been challenged to count how many people Max manages to anger before the new year arrives.
Considering his secret relationship with Priya, his engagement to Cindy and his involvement in the flashforward mystery, Max already has plenty of reasons to be worried.
His upcoming wedding to Cindy is another major source of tension. The soap has teased what could be described as a “wedding battle,” suggesting that their expensive celebration may be far from the romantic occasion they expect.
And there is an even bigger question surrounding Max’s future.
Max appears to be connected to another wedding in the New Year’s Day flashforward. If he really does marry Cindy before then, viewers may be looking at another dramatic breakup, annulment or unexpected twist. But if his relationship with Cindy collapses because of his secret with Priya, could Priya somehow become the woman waiting beside him?
That possibility would completely change the love triangle.
Meanwhile, Kim Fox and Howie Danes are also preparing to marry, but their wedding will look very different from Max and Cindy’s lavish plans. The Fox-Truman family is currently dealing with Denise’s leukemia diagnosis and chemotherapy, making the wedding especially meaningful because everyone wants Denise to be there.
Unlike Cindy and Max, Kim and Howie cannot afford an extravagant ceremony. Their wedding will therefore come with its own collection of obstacles, although some of the upcoming scenes are expected to provide much-needed comedy.
Elsewhere, Suki and Eve Panesar Unwin are heading toward another major storyline.

The couple have spent the past year trying to become adoptive parents. Their journey has been difficult, but they eventually received approval from the adoption agency. A young girl named Ria was then urgently placed in their care.
Suki and Eve have been working hard to create a sense of security for Ria. After several emotional moments, they have finally begun making progress and building a stronger bond with the vulnerable child.
However, their happiness may once again be placed under pressure.
Ben Wadey has confirmed that a major storyline is coming for Suki and Eve, suggesting that their new family life will not remain peaceful for long.
With so many major stories approaching, EastEnders is building toward an autumn packed with secrets, betrayals and emotional confrontations. Yet the biggest question may still be what happens to Ravi, Priya and Max.
Priya has chosen Ravi, but she has not escaped the consequences of her secret affair. Ravi believes he has finally won back the woman he loves, while Max remains unaware of just how dangerous the situation could become. And hanging over everything is Priya’s unborn baby.
If Ravi is the father, their engagement could still survive and perhaps give them the family future they have both wanted. But if Max is the father, the truth could trigger a chain reaction involving Priya, Ravi, Cindy and the entire Branning family.
And with Max already heading toward a mysterious future filled with enemies, betrayals and a terrifying hostage situation, his secret relationship with Priya could be one of the reasons everything eventually falls apart.
The real question is no longer simply whether Ravi and Priya will get their happy ending.
It is whether their reunion is actually the beginning of another disaster.
As EastEnders races toward the dramatic events of New Year’s Day 2027, every secret is becoming more dangerous. Priya’s pregnancy, Max’s double life, Ravi’s possible exit and the mystery surrounding the future weddings are all connected by one thing: nobody in Walford can keep the truth hidden forever.
And when that truth finally comes out, Ravi may discover that the woman he thought he had won back was carrying a secret that could change all of their lives forever.
