Home And Away Spoilers: Does Kerrie Deserve A Goodbye? Sonny Faces His New Reality As Mali Sees Through Holden

Emotional Goodbyes, Difficult Consequences And Growing Suspicions Push Summer Bay Residents To Breaking Point

Home and Away is preparing another emotionally complicated chapter as the question of whether Kerrie deserves a proper goodbye divides those around her, Sonny Baldwin is forced to confront the reality of how dramatically his life has changed, and Mali Hudson becomes increasingly convinced that Holden is hiding something.

For Sonny, there is no easy route back to the person he was before recent events. The future he once imagined suddenly feels distant, and the people closest to him can see that he is struggling to reconcile his old identity with his new circumstances.

Meanwhile, Kerrie’s situation raises difficult questions about forgiveness. Whatever mistakes have been made, does everyone deserve the opportunity to say goodbye? Or would offering Kerrie that moment simply reopen wounds that have barely begun to heal?

Across the Bay, Mali has problems of his own. Holden may believe he has everyone convinced, but Mali notices inconsistencies others have overlooked. And once his suspicions take hold, he refuses to ignore them.

Kerrie’s Goodbye Becomes A Painful Question

The prospect of Kerrie leaving immediately creates mixed emotions.

Some believe that whatever has happened, a final conversation could provide closure. Others are far less interested in offering her an emotional farewell.

Old wounds remain raw.

There are people who feel Kerrie has already been given enough opportunities to explain herself, and another goodbye risks becoming one more chance to justify choices that caused pain.

But the situation is not entirely straightforward.

A goodbye is not necessarily forgiveness.

It does not erase the past, nor does it require anyone to pretend the hurt never happened.

For some, it may simply be the opportunity to say what was never said.

That distinction becomes increasingly important as the possibility of Kerrie leaving becomes more immediate.

Not Everyone Is Ready To Forgive

The debate quickly exposes divisions among those affected by Kerrie’s actions.

One side believes walking away without a final conversation would leave too many unanswered questions.

The other believes closure does not always require the person who caused the pain to participate.

Kerrie herself appears aware that she cannot demand forgiveness.

That may be what makes the situation so emotional.

She is no longer asking everyone to agree with her version of events. She simply wants to know whether there is anything left worth saying before she goes.

The answer may depend entirely on who she asks.

Some relationships can survive disappointment.

Others may already have reached their ending.

Sonny Is Confronted By A Life He Barely Recognises

Elsewhere, Sonny faces a much more personal reckoning.

Recent events have changed his circumstances dramatically, and the practical consequences are beginning to sink in.

Until now, Sonny has been able to focus on immediate problems — getting through each day, answering questions and reassuring the people around him.

But eventually the bigger picture becomes impossible to avoid.

His life is different.

Plans he once took for granted may need to change.

Even ordinary routines can now carry reminders of what happened.

Sonny tries to approach the situation with humour, but the people who know him best recognise what is underneath.

He is frightened.

Not necessarily of one specific thing, but of the uncertainty surrounding who he will be from this point forward.

Dana Wants To Help, But Sonny Pulls Away

Dana instinctively tries to support Sonny.

Her concern is genuine, but Sonny finds it increasingly difficult to accept.

Every offer of assistance reminds him that people now see his circumstances differently.

Dana insists she is not treating him as incapable.

Sonny understands that intellectually.

Emotionally, it feels more complicated.

He does not want their relationship to become defined by what has happened to him.

He wants Dana to look at him and see the same person.

When she tries to discuss the future, Sonny becomes defensive.

Dana is hurt.

She wants to be included in whatever comes next.

Sonny is not yet sure what “next” even means.

Sonny Finally Admits What He Is Afraid Of

Eventually, the tension becomes too much.

Sonny admits that he has been avoiding conversations about the future because he does not know what kind of future he can realistically promise.

The admission changes the mood.

His frustration has not been about Dana.

It has been about himself.

Sonny is struggling with the possibility that his independence, relationships and ambitions may look different from what he once imagined.

Dana refuses to let him decide on her behalf what she can handle.

If their relationship changes, she wants that to be something they face honestly rather than something Sonny ends out of guilt.

Her response leaves him emotional.

For the first time, Sonny begins to understand that accepting support does not automatically mean surrendering independence.

Mali Notices Something About Holden

While Sonny wrestles with his future, Mali’s attention turns toward Holden.

Something does not add up.

At first, it is only a feeling.

Holden says the right things and appears relaxed enough when others are around.

But Mali notices the moments when the performance slips.

A reaction comes too quickly.

A detail in one story does not quite match another.

Holden dismisses questions that should be easy to answer.

Mali does not immediately accuse him of anything.

Instead, he watches.

The more he observes, the more convinced he becomes that Holden is deliberately presenting one version of himself to Summer Bay while hiding another.

Holden Underestimates Mali

Holden appears to assume Mali will eventually lose interest.

That may prove to be a serious mistake.

Mali is patient when he needs to be.

He understands that confronting someone without evidence could simply make them more careful.

Instead, he begins asking apparently harmless questions.

Holden answers confidently.

Then Mali raises a detail from an earlier conversation.

For a moment, Holden hesitates.

It is brief.

But Mali catches it.

Now he knows his suspicions are not entirely unfounded.

There is something Holden does not want people examining too closely.

The only question is what.

Lacey Could Be At The Centre Of Mali’s Concerns

Mali’s suspicions become more urgent because Holden’s behaviour may have consequences for Lacey.

After everything Lacey has already endured, Mali is unwilling to watch another questionable situation develop without speaking up.

But he also understands that going directly to Lacey with vague suspicions could backfire.

She has had enough people trying to make decisions for her.

If Mali approaches the situation badly, she may interpret his concern as interference.

That gives him a difficult balancing act.

He wants Lacey to be cautious.

He also needs to respect her right to judge Holden for herself.

Mali therefore decides he needs more than instinct before making a serious accusation.

Holden Realises He Is Being Watched

Unfortunately for Mali, Holden is not oblivious.

He begins noticing the questions.

The friendly conversations no longer feel quite so friendly.

When Mali appears unexpectedly, Holden’s demeanour changes.

Eventually, the two men share a tense exchange.

Holden asks whether Mali has a problem with him.

Mali refuses to be drawn into a confrontation.

Not yet.

He simply says that Summer Bay is a small place and people tend to notice when stories do not line up.

The warning lands.

Holden smiles it off.

But once Mali leaves, his reaction suggests the comment has unsettled him.

Kerrie Faces The Possibility Of Leaving Without Closure

Back with Kerrie, time is running out.

She cannot force anyone to speak to her.

That means she may have to leave without the goodbye she wanted.

For the first time, she appears to accept that possibility.

If people need distance, she must respect it.

That shift could be enough to change someone’s mind.

A final conversation becomes possible — not because everything has been forgiven, but because both sides recognise this may be their last opportunity to speak honestly.

The resulting exchange is emotional but restrained.

There are no promises that the past is forgotten.

There is simply acknowledgement that despite everything, the relationship mattered.

Sometimes that is the only closure available.

Sonny Takes His First Step Forward

Sonny’s storyline also begins to move toward acceptance.

He remains overwhelmed by the scale of the changes ahead, but he stops pretending that ignoring them will make them disappear.

Instead of thinking about the rest of his life, he focuses on the next decision.

Then the one after that.

It is a smaller approach, but one he can manage.

Dana makes clear that she will support him without treating him as fragile.

That distinction matters.

Sonny does not suddenly become optimistic about everything.

His fears remain.

But he begins reclaiming something he felt he had lost: a sense of control over what happens next.

Mali Gets The Clue He Has Been Waiting For

Just as Mali considers whether he has enough reason to confront Holden directly, another detail emerges.

It may be a comment, an unexpected connection or something Holden believed nobody else would notice.

Whatever it is, Mali immediately understands its significance.

His suspicion is no longer based entirely on instinct.

Now there is a genuine inconsistency that needs explaining.

Mali faces a choice.

Does he confront Holden immediately?

Does he warn Lacey?

Or does he keep investigating until he understands the full picture?

One thing is certain.

Mali is no longer prepared to give Holden the benefit of the doubt.

Three Stories About Letting Go And Moving Forward

The latest Home and Away drama connects Kerrie, Sonny and Mali through very different forms of uncertainty.

Kerrie must accept that saying goodbye does not guarantee forgiveness.

Sonny must let go of the idea that his future needs to look exactly like the life he imagined before everything changed.

Mali, meanwhile, must decide whether to let his suspicions go or trust the instincts telling him Holden is not what he seems.

Each character is standing between the past and whatever comes next.

The choices they make could have lasting consequences.

What Happens Next In Summer Bay?

Kerrie’s departure could leave emotional fallout even after she is gone. A final goodbye may provide some closure, but it could also revive feelings others believed they had buried.

For Sonny, confronting his new reality is only the beginning. The real challenge will be rebuilding confidence without pushing away the people who genuinely want to stand beside him.

And Mali’s concerns about Holden could become the most explosive storyline of all.

If Mali is wrong, his suspicions could damage relationships and create unnecessary conflict.

If he is right, however, staying silent could leave someone he cares about exposed to further manipulation or harm.

For now, Summer Bay is left with three uncomfortable questions.

Does Kerrie deserve one last goodbye?

Can Sonny accept a future that looks different from the one he planned?

And what exactly has Mali seen in Holden that everyone else has missed?

The answers could reshape several relationships — and prove that in Summer Bay, the most dangerous secrets are often the ones hiding in plain sight.
